These flames, they light our way
They flicker and shake
Tremble and quake
Warming the way to the future's wake
When a shadow is cast on the world ahead
When all hope seems gone and dead
A warm candle light will be lain at our feet
So that those that follow can see and repeat
This soft blanket of light asks not much in return
Only to remember them while they burn
And turn back when we reach our place of rest
And know that the result was worth the test
