If I were a dog in America...
If I were a dog in America,
I'd play, I'd sleep, I'd eat all day.
Playing in the parklooking pretty.
Adoring all people who tell me, "Awww, what a cutie!"
You know in America, we are man's best pal,
Whenever people see me, they jump around.
Not left to stray.
Not to scare.
Not a flea in my hair.
No dog catchers, no cages, no scary vets anywhere.
Wow, if I were a dog in America,
I'd call all my buddies to come and share my kibble.
Chewing and drinking and swallowing three meals.
Hoping not to to slip on a banana peel.
I would love my doggy life in the mansions of America, and then wonder what life would be like in, Canada.
