i.m not black nope
what you see is not what you get
i decived you
i guess you suppose just because you saw me breath, talk, walk, think, analyze,
compromise, snezze, bleed, cry lie,put down ink on this peice of paper, simplistice, relistic
i wake up everyday
to see my brown, honey toastedsunkissed skin i am proud of
black nappy roots i don't hide long real hair to throw over my shoulder beautiful skin covered by dkny.
i'm not hip-hop
i'm not real
all cause i don have a "fetish"
and "baby phat" is not my thing
bling bling is guady try and find
and when you do let me know
introduce me to myself

i am 19 and in college now but.i wrote this when i was a freshman in highschool i was always diffrent and into acting and just alot of things that most people would call "unblack" and i never understood it. i went to a very culturally diverse school and i was still picked on by white kids and black kids. i obviously wasn't white and blonde. and i just wasn't "black enough" for the black kids so often i found myself alone all because i like to write and act and spoke correct english. so i hope this poem inspires not only black girls but everyone learn from my experience and relize as long as you try your best and can say to your self i am the best me that "I" can be.It okay to be me plus highschool doesn't last forever :) and someone will appreciate your talent just always strive for the top.

Thats really awesome. im not a black girl lol but i think its great that u dont conform to the stereotypes of todays world. its the same, no matter what race u are. we all have toese standards people set for us based on the color of our skin. Break the boundaries, way to go girl!
