Little Princess
“When you wish upon a star…”
“Your dreams come true.”
At least that’s what they said.
My Childhood dream was to make a wish,
A wish for a fairytale,
And
A wish for a happily ever after.
I wanted to be Ariel or maybe even Belle.
I had the dream of every little girl,
To be the little princess.
Eventually I knew
This couldn’t come true,
I would only be little Haley.
But I was a princess to him,
The one I adored the most.
He had brown hair, with tints of gray,
And a beard as itchy as hay.
Always tucked in I said to him,
Goodnight I love you so.
Did you have to go?
Did you have to leave?
Why did u leave me here to grieve?
For the past half year,
I thought in tears,
Of all the good times we had.
All the summers of making whirl pools,
In the not so blue pool.
When we watched the Saw movies,
I got a little Scooby,
And would run to my room and hide.
I miss those days,
Of being a princess
To the king of Brynell drive.
He meant a lot to me,
My daddy, you see?
But now he’s gone to a different place,
A place with a higher kingdom.
Every night I pray for you,
Just to see you one more time.
All I can say,
Is I miss you,
Your little girl
Wants you back home.
