Presently Dreaming

One night I dreamed about a present
High was the value of this present
I was taking the present to my house
When I was spooked by a mouse
The present fell down a Manhole
The Sewer below was as black as coal
Desperate to find the missing gift
I found and used a nearby lift
Below nothing but darkness arose
Scared I stood in a shocked pose
This indeed was what I most feared
The present had disappeared

Like The first line indicates, I actually did dream up this poem. In the first crucial minutes of conscientiousness, I nearly forgot what the poem was about and the last line was originally "The Present had reappeared."
