You were trapped
so close to death
—not long ago
You showed us your strength
Proved us all wrong
Hard were the addictions
you overcame
Long were the nights
without you home
You have traveled
the long distance
Mountains you have overcome
Now you have made it
Standing on the sandy sea shore
You’re as free as the incoming waves
caressing our toes
I was there for you then
I am here for you now
The world may end
but still we stand strong
Side by side for eternity
Brotherhood
