A single rose standing in a field of weeds
Wind thrashing at it ruthlessly
Trying to push it over the edge
Trying to make it wilt
To end its life sooner than needed
A single rose standing in a field of weeds
Rain pouring down on it like a thick sheet
Trying to drown it
The rose quickly losing its color
A single rose standing in a field of weeds
Exposed to the elements
Every day it begins to wilt even more
Leaning over
Looking more like a weeping willow than anything else
A single rose standing in a field of weeds
Dead.
