P.E. should not be required and should be optional. P.E. shouldn’t be required because the majority of careers don’t involve physical activities, it causes bullying for many kids that aren’t good at P.E., and it is a waste of time.

Many careers don’t use physical exercise. The only jobs that require physical exercise is in jobs like: being a police officer, an FBI agent, and being an athlete. There are more jobs that use knowledge, than jobs that use physical exercise.

Physical education is also a way for many kids to get teased and bullied. I would know from experience. When I had to take P.E. in 7th grade, I was constantly made fun of and teased. I was teased because I was the slowest runner and I had no athletic ability, what-so-ever. I’m not the only person who has gotten bullied because of physical education. These days in P.E., there are at least a few kids who are bullied. Sure, there are quite a bit of people who like P.E. and they think that the kid, who has gotten teased, will eventually get over it, but they never do. Bullying hurts.

Physical education is a waste of time. Instead of just standing around, students could be learning about useful subjects like: Math, Science, History, and English. Most of the time kids just stand around and don’t put any effort in P.E. Instead of P.E., students could be learning about something important, something they’d need to know to have a successful job.

Obviously, P.E. should not be required because it wastes time, it promotes bullying, and most jobs don’t require physical exercise. All-in-all, P.E. should be optional, not be forced.

P.E is important for everyone, whether your not athletic and do not get physicall activity outside of school or whether you are like me and play intensive sports outside of school. P.E is a break in your day that gets blood flowing and helps you work better. I play intensive basketball and love when we play basketball on gym class, for me it's a chance to try-out moves against a weaker caliber of players. Also for those people who either play one sport and one sport only or who don't play sports it is a chance to experience new forms of physical activity. If anything schools should have more, mandatory P.E. not less.

It's just my opion. I've taken P.E. through out elemantary school and a year of middle school. It didn't help me loose any weight. And I am not obese right now, nor was I obese in elementary and middle school. I never said to just take away P.E. I just said that it should be optional.
