Poverty and hunger are growing problems in America. Poverty is when people don’t have enough money to afford their basic needs. In this recession, wages have dwindled and many Americans have lost their jobs. In the past 10 years there has been a huge jump in the number of American families living in poverty. People that live in poverty are scared that they won’t have enough money to put food on the table for their families. There are many ways we can help people living in poverty. You can help organize a food drive or you could volunteer at a local food bank, and of course you can always say prayers for the poor.
