The amount of soft drinks America has is unbelievable. They are even more plentiful at restaurants than water. But within this everlasting pool of sodas, which one is the best? I hope to bring light to this question. Many would rather drink Coca Cola when it comes to soft drinks, but I have a different opinion. I believe that Dr. Pepper is better than Coca Cola.

While Coca Cola has many drinks that taste like it (biggest one being Pepsi), Dr. Pepper has its own unique taste not replicated by any other soft drink. Dr. Pepper's taste cannot be explained. Some say it has a cherry taste too it, but I think of it more vanilla root beer. There are only four people in the world that know its ingredients and the formula is locked in a bank vault. That being said, Dr. Pepper is a unique tasting drink.

Coca Cola, unlike Dr. Pepper, is very acidic. It is used to clean roads, kill bugs, remove rust and more. Coca Cola has this acid in it so that you don't puke from the sugar. This is why Coca Cola has such a bitter taste to it. However, Dr. Pepper is one of the least acidic sodas in the world. Acid is a very harmful substance. It can erode teeth, ruin your intestines and cause stomach issues.

Coca Cola and Dr. Pepper both have a lot of flavors, but today I am going to name the ones you can find in a retail store. Most would expect Coca Cola to have more flavors than Dr. Pepper, but this is not the case. Dr. Pepper sells six different flavors across stores, while Coca Cola only sells 4. This may seem like a small difference, but two flavors can mean a lot if you are looking for a variety of tastes. If you are REALLY looking for different tastes, I would suggest a Coca Cola freestyle machine, which offers multiple flavors for both of the sodas.

Caffeine is found in coffee, energy drinks and sometimes sodas. It makes you more alert and can  benefit towards your health according to some studies. Coca Cola has 34 mg of caffeine in its drink; while Dr. Pepper has 41 mg of caffeine in its drink. This means Dr. Pepper benefits a lot more from the health benefits than Coca Cola does.
DPS (Dr. Pepper Snapple Group)  is doing very well last year it gained 23% and is continuing to rise. It's current share price is around 90 and has a capital of 16.94 Billion. Coca Cola, however, has a share price of around 44 and has lost 2.3% last year and looks like it will continue to fall. DPS it seems is gaining a lot of momentum and may overtake Coca Cola as the leading soda in the United States.

After reading this, Dr. Pepper would seem to be the superior drink. It beats Coca Cola in almost every aspect and continues to grow as a leading drink. Dr. Pepper, not only leading in taste and flavors, but also leads from an economical standpoint. I believe these five reasons, along with the data backing them up, have proven that Dr. Pepper is better than Coca Cola.
