Will you kindly be considerate?

Do you remember the Victorian Age? The stuffy old men in their fancy suits, women in impossible corsets, and a society governed by formality? It is not all bad.

Is it so hard to hold open the door for somebody? Maybe they're having a bad day and it might give them hope.

What happened to a simple discourse of "please" "thank you" "you're very welcome"? Since preschool we've been taught that basic manners are an easy way to spread kindness.

Why can we not seem to master enough self control to not put things so bluntly? Honesty is wonderful, but words can hurt - remember that.

When I call for a more "civilized" society, I do not ask you to don a floor length gown or doublet, but rather to use civilized language because it emulates kindness, and in this day and age, the world could do with just a little bit more.

"Everything in this room, everything you see is eatable. Even I myself am eatable, but that, children, is called cannibalism, and is frowned upon in most societies."

YES! I completely agree.
