Why do parents judge so harshly?

Why do parents judge us? We are just learning and making mistakes but why judge so harsh. Yes they have high standards and only want the best but we want to explore through every open door. They probably don't want us to male their same mistakes.
But we just rebel and do it anyways. Or maybe they just want us to have higher ideals then they did. But do they always have to use it as an excuse.Why do they need to judge us? We are just learning we are bound to make mistakes.
