Do you believe in love in high school? Could it possibly exist?

No way, kids don't know what true love is... But, how many people do you know that dated in high school that are currently married and happy? I personally know about 4 couples very very well that are now happy after being high school sweethearts. Did they just like each other as teens and grow to love each other? When did the "like" change to "love?" In college? Age 21? 22?23? Or could they possibly have loved each other all along?

How can you put an age on love?

I, personally, believe in teenage love. I truly think it exists. Adults that did not fall in love till they were, in fact, adults, will most likely dismiss it. However, some - like my mother, for instance - do not dismiss teenage love. Do you?

I believe in high school love.  You could always argue 'well you just believe in it because you're 14 years old!'  But I think it's real.  It may not be common, because many teens obviously dismiss a big crush as love, but it comes once in a while.

Love is real...its just rare. Not many are lucky enough to find it. Its kind of hard to find when love is used as a way to say "bye" or "I have a crush on so and so". Its out there. You just have to search a little harder.

I agree wholeheartedly with LOL4Life. It does come with maturity, and I believe that most Teens, unfortunately, arent mature enough for love. There are millions of examples such as when girls go from guy to guy, telling everyone they are innlove then dump them. Guys do the same thing so girls. It is stupid. The phrase has become almost meaningless because immature people use it. Namely, teenagers.

Love is something that comes with maturity. When we are younger and come across that little boy we just adore, is it love? If we say it is then it might be! At that age we are not mature enough to know what we should look for. Love is always there, just true love comes with the pureness of marriage.

i personally do agree. is there a certain age where you switch from like to love? i dont think there is...my parents tell me all the time that its just a high school teenage relationship. i ask them what difference does it make...they say itll never last...but there are alot of couples that met in high school and are growing old together happily...

Love is strong as death.  Love is real.  It just depends on how patient you are to find someone to love and trust.  If you find your love in highschool. lucky you.  If you havent, then just keep looking.  i mean google to see how many people are out in the world.  surely you have a soul mate out there somewhere.  just got to find it

Love is as real as hate and even if you're totally in love one minuite, then hate each other the next that doesn't mean it wasn't real. We're humans with feelings and we make mistakes. I don't know but maybe you've never been in love, I have and it is very much real.

Yeah teenage love might be real but teens don't always have enough experience to see the difference between love and lust.

Yeah, since love is different to everyone people will have many different opinions on if teenage love is real.  But yeah, sometimes teenagers do love each other enough to be married for the rest of their lives.

I think love is different with everyone. Theres a difference to being in love and being obsessed. Then again you can care for someone so much you love them. Like i said its different with everyone.

There is such a thing as teenage love, BUT it is VERY rare.  Teenagers are going through many changes, both physically and emotionally, and they often mistaken physical attraction or need for support for love.  The worse part is that kids put too much into relationships and allow them to take away from what is far more important, like school, friends and family.

The greatest challenge to any thinker is stating the problem in a way that will allow a solution.

I would agree with all the people saying that maturity level is a restriction rather than age. So many teens throw the word "love" around without realizing what love really is. Teens may think they are in love but find later that they weren't. To find someone else and truly love them and be able to spend the rest of their life with that person, (successfuly that is) you must first find yourself. It might sound corny or cliche but it's completely true. There is a point in a person's life where you truly know yourself, your ins and outs, what you like, what you don't like, etc. How can you possibly get to know someone else if you don't know yourself, get me? This self-discovery tends to happen later in life for MOST teens, because it comes with maturity. So yes I would agree teen love exists, but I will also say that it truly exists very seldomly at such a young age.

Teenage love does exist. Age is not a barrier, maturity is the barrier of true love. I am a high school student and I am truly in love. Those one percent of people who marry their high school sweet heart are the one percent who mature early.
