Palestine vs. Israel

You're sitting in class listening to a group present the counties of the Middle East; they say nothing of the conflict or problems going on in Palestine. Deep inside you feel let down and pushed away, knowing that the group has a slight understanding of what is going on and said nothing about it.
This truly did happen to me. I had talked to one of the kids in the group the day before, and we had a small conversation about it, so I knew he had a bit of information about it. But during the presentation he didn't show this knowledge, and instead said it was called Israel, and mainly a Jewish state, not at all mentioning the Gaza strip or Palestine conflicts. I said nothing, I didn't want to bash the group or affect their grade at all.
Now I know people say the Israel was fairly won. It was not at all. Before WW1, the Ottoman Empire ruled over Palestine. The Palestinians were promised by the British that they would be given their freedom if they fought against the Ottomans. However, they also promised Zionists (not Jews) that they would be given our land in the Balfour Declaration in 1917. After WW2, the newly-installed UN gave our land to Zionists because they “felt bad” for them.
Now, you may be asking why I’m saying Zionists and not Jews. The reason for this is because not all Jews are Zionists and not all Zionists are Jews. There are Jewish people who are completely opposed to the so-called State of Israel, and there are other people besides Jews who believe that the so-called State if Israel has the right to exist. There are also Jews who have been living in Palestine for thousands of years. They say that they are Palestinian Jews. They eat like us, talk like us, act like us, and live like us. The only difference between us and them is: nothing. They also resist the Israeli government like us. So how come people say there is no such thing as a Palestinian Jew? Because the media and the US government itself is completely controlled by the Israeli lobby. They managed to accomplish their goal of making Americans think that Jews and Palestinians are two entirely different races. Jewish is not a race. It is a religion. You can be a Jewish Palestinian, Jewish American, Jewish Russian, Jewish Ethiopian, etc. Here are some examples:

After WW2, the US backed Israelis poured into our land, killing and taking our land. My grandfather was shot in the neck during the invasion. He was thrown out of his home. He had no choice but to move to America, which is why I’m here instead of at home, in Palestine, where I belong.
It’s a state law where I live that we must say the pledge of allegiance every morning during my first period class. What does the end say? Oh, yes, “With liberty, and justice for all.” I perceive that they don’t only mean for the people living in the US, but also the other countries of the world.

I completely agree. More people, especially the upcoming generation should know about what is really going on between Israel and Palestine, and how the Israeli occupation is affecting the lives of the Palestinians today.

Houses are quite expensive and not every person can buy it. Nevertheless, business loans are invented to help different people in such situations.

I totally disagree! After the Holocaust, the world knew that the Jews needed a real place to call home. A jewish State. For thousands of years, Jews had been wandering from country to country being persecuted by antisemites. They now DO have the right to have a place where they can say it's their home. Muslims have countries, Christians have them, why can't Jews?

Well of course they have a right to a home! But what right do they have to relocate/kill the people living in an area to have their home. It's completely wrong in every possible manner and they have harmed the original Palestinians (Muslims, Chrisian, and Jewish ones) in more ways than I can count.

@Lily That couldn't be further from the truth. First of all, there was never a forced relocation, except in the scenario that a Palestinians was posing an active threat to Israeli civilians, and the Israelis have never as a whole tried to commit a massacre against the Palestinians. Were there individual acts? Yes, but these were not condoned by the government, and these would occur in any war. The Arabs and Palestinians on the other hand, celebrated Jewish deaths, and in the War for Independence... (more »)
