In the October issue of Teen Ink "How I Became a Murderer" both disgusted me and touched my heart. Being a major animal lover, reading the article was very difficult. I wanted to stop several times, yet I needed to know how it would end. I am embarrassed to say I actually cried in class. I would never even consider taking on this job. It must be absolutely heartbreaking taking the life of an innocent animal. Yes, they say it is for the best, but in some cased I disagree. I really felt for the author when she told about putting Hannibal, a dog she loved, to sleep. I myself have had my pets, my friends, put down. Unfortunately, they were old and ill. However, I respect the author for staying committed to her job no matter how hard it must have been. I can only imagine. Hannibal is in a better place now.
