The American Flag simply does not fly because the wind flows through its threads, 13 stripes, 50 stars, its red, white, and blue national colors. The American Flag flies because of the last breaths of every military member who has died defending it.

The author's comments:
A family member who had his part in the military was killed in combat. And since the 4th of July was approaching I thought it would be a good and respectful piece of writing.
