Dear A

Dear A,
I know it's been quite a while since we knew each other, but I remember. Every promise I made to you, I remember how we clung to those promises like they were our life source. I remember holding you when you felt sick, and when you were scared. You were my best friend, what more could I ask for? Even when you were two hundred sixty six miles, four hours, and twenty nine minutes away, you were the closest thing to a family I'd ever had. No, we weren't blood or even marriage related, but there was a bond there greater than anything and no word could sum it up, not even "family". I know things fell apart, and I know we aren't as close as we used to be, but just know I'm always going to be here. When you need someone to hide you from the world every once in a while, I'll be here, ready, with arms and my heart open. Just don't forget that.
