Cyber bulling is a serious problem on the Internet. Cyber bulling, is when kids and teens are tormented, humiliated, harassed or embarrassed by others via email, texting, or by chatroom, Facebook or MySpace postings. Children get on the computer without any adult supervision. Most children have not been taught internet safety. When they visit sites such as Facebook, MySpace, or any other internet social utility they are at risk of being bullied. Harassment, intimidation and sometimes even violence may occur as a result of cyber bulling. Many young people are scared and develop serious emotional problems as a result of cyber bulling. There are many ways cyber bullies can be dealt with. First of all, young people should be taught about the dangers they may encounter while using technology. Parents need to supervise their children’s computer and cell phone use. On the internet it is wise to keep your personal information to yourself. It is also important to immediately report cyber bullying to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
