No Alcohol

Robert Benchley stated 'Drinking makes such fools of people, and people are such fools to begin
with, that it's compounding a felony' (http://www.quotegarden.com/alcohol.html). I believe
alcohol should be illegal in the United States. It would be ideal if alcohol were illegal in the
United States, but I doubt if it would happen. My first reason of why alcohol should be illegal
is, alcohol can change someone's personality. When someone gets drunk he or she can get crazy and
do some weird stuff. For example this one time when my father got drunk at a party he had gone to,
he came home and acted crazy. I assumed he was really drunk because he threw a pot on the floor and
started laughing. When my father has gotten drunk my mom, sister, and I have gotten scared because
my father does some crazy things. In addition, a person can get mean when he or she is drunk. A
person may do some violent things, causing harm. Secondly, alcohol can ruin your body. When someone
gets used to drinking alcohol, it can become an addiction. He or she can get an ulcer. Here's
another example about my father. This past summer my father went to one of his cousin's parties
and he got really drunk. The next day, he was still drunk. He wouldn't get out of bed, like he
normally does. My father said his stomach or something near his stomach hurt, so my mom called his
brother. My father's brother took him to the emergency room to see what was wrong with him. The
doctors said my father had an ulcer, which means he had a sore on his stomach. My father learned his
lesson; he knows not to drink at his cousins' parties, which is good, because my father does not
want to go back to the doctor. Lastly but not least, an unknown author quoted: 'If you must drink
and drive, drink Pepsi'. (http://www.quotegarden.com/alcohol.html). My last reason is you should
not drink and drive. The people who drink and drive are scary and dangerous. They can have car
accidents and may be put into jail for drinking and driving. To conclude, I believe alcohol should
be illegal in the United States. I insist this because Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald quoted: 'First
you take a drink, then the drink takes a drink, then the drink takes you'.
(http://www.quotegarden.com/alcohol.html), I assume this is true, because when you drink, the drink
does take you, and that is how you get drunk.

I agree; alcohol and all other drugs ruin lives too much.
