Summary: Braid is a sixteen-year-old assistant to Caldor, the only doctor in the town of Copper. Treating patients is taking a toll on Braid - it starts with a small cough, but grows into something uncontainable. The only cure to Braid's sudden illness will be to cross the forbidden bridge that joins their town to the ruins of Gold, a city that was once beaming with life. The ruins of a city that has always been an interest of Braid's. With the help of Caldor, the doctor, and Emrys, his annoying yet insightful brother, Braid must travel to the city to find her cure, before it's too late.
