Summary:

Annaleigh Vaughn is misunderstood. With her exotic, almost-perfect looks, everyone expected Annaleigh to be the one will all the friends.
But when her mother leaves their family to live a life of alcoholism, Annaleigh isolates herself. Sitting alone at lunch and barely uttering two words all day, Annaleigh resorts to solitude with the daily escape to the theater.
When two different boys enter her life at different times, she finds herself torn between dwelling on the past or stressing about the future. When the right person comes along, Annaleigh learns she doesn't have to do either. She discovers how to accomplish the hardest thing she's ever had to do: live.
