the smell of brand new cleats on my feet. The wind blowing on my face. The sharp teeth on the cleats, cutting the fresh green grass. I hear the crowed yeliing and shouting as a make my next move. Pass, juke, and shoot the ball is what we do. So tiered sweat dripping down my face. Yellow card , yell at the ref. Juke pass shoot and score, now do you special celebration. People don’t realize how physical this sport can be. Slide tackles and shoulder to shoulder. Knock them down but make it look fair. Close game going at it. The score bored says were just one ahead. Boot the ball out of bounds to waste time. Play it safe don’t get fancy. They shoot the ball we all get scared. A big thud when the ball hits the glove. A sigh of relieve as he takes his time. We hear the whistle three times. The game is over with a big surprise. Huddle up and pray to God. He’s the one that made this happen.
