Ears are for listening. For hearing thoughts, stories, and insight into the lives of others. Some are droopy, stretched and seasoned by age. Some are small and soft like the skin of a peach. And some come to a point, like those of an elf. But do these ears tell you anything about the person who lies between them? Mine do.

My ears are different. My ears define who I am. Puffy and rigid like the vegetable they are named after. Weathered by years of battle, and molded by the sport that consumes my life. My ears are wrestling. They are dedication, sacrifice, and toughness. My ears are a badge that I will wear the rest of my life. They tell my story without speaking.

I love how you use your ear to describe your sport.  It added the desired effect when you say they are the badge that you will wear for the rest of your life.
