Aisha Sultan said, “Many sports such as football, hockey, and boxing, are ritualized, acceptable violence.” These Sports may promote violence but they also help to control anger. As a football athlete, I know from first hand knowledge that football keeps me out of trouble in life. Kicked out of Cahokia’s Middle School for fighting, I learned a valuable lesson; with football on my mind, I am able to keep my self out of the office. I had a lot of anger before I found football. At a crossroad, I had to Chose football or the office. Angry, I left it all on the football field and became a better person. Without football, I would probably be just like a lot of my old teammates for little league. Most of them have dropped out of school. Narcotics have a hold on them big time. Football turns out to be both a promoter of violence and a way to control anger.
