This Morning MAG

One morning
I will wake up
and notice the way
the sun streams through
the windows
instead of
how heavy
my eyelids are
I will get out of bed
and wash the sleep
off my face
instead of
drowning myself
in the blankets
I will pour myself
a bowl of cereal and milk
and actually eat it
instead of
clutching my stomach
churning from skipping dinner
the night before
I will go to school
with laughter in my eyes
and stretched cheeks
instead of
a storm
in my mind
