Its dusk, in what seemed like a bowl between mountains. The pink and orange sunset hid behind a mountain, creating a silhouette and a shimmering stripe across the lake. The waves repeatedly kissed the shore, with a quiet splash each time. The pine needle smell was overwhelming, the trees acting as infatuating natural air fresheners. His arm around me in a comfortable silence erased any sliver of stress that could have polluted my mind. Crickets chirped quietly, creating a picturesque scene from a movie that I never could have imagined existing in my life. The scenery was incredible, and the person next to me was even better. I never saw myself feeling these stereotypical teenage girl feelings of “love”, but it really does exist, I’ve discovered.
