The Boy

I saw a boy on the bus today. He was one of those kids, who at first glance would be stereo-types as a bad kid, a trouble maker.

He got on the bus-and I examined him. He had black hair that looked like it hadn’t been combed in 3 days. He was wearing a black button up t-shirt and a necklace that had an 8 pointed star. He had worn out black skinny jeans on; they sagged a bit, hanging lower than his hip. His shoes were red vans. There was a white stripe through them; separating the red and black from each other.

Just as I was about to make a judgment, stereo-type him, I caught sight of his eyes. They were bluish green and reminded me of the sea. They were staring at me like two marbles. Then they spoke, they pleaded and begged they said, ‘Please don’t, please.’

I looked at him again and saw something more than a raggedy teenager. I saw a person. I looked at him and saw everything that he could be-kindness.
