My friend and I stood happily in the tide pools, searching for sea anemones and starfish. Picking up any seaweed that had a nice color to it, or shells that shimmered in the sunlight, a sudden idea flashed itself before us. We had recently gone to a bookstore and looked through a book about the gods. Poseidon had been a favorite of us both, so we decided to have a little fun and make offerings to him. We would make wishes and throw seaweed back into the ocean, hoping that Poseidon would be thankful and grant them. The ocean waves spluttered up against the rocks, sending more and more shells towards the shore. We would smile, pocket them, and thank Poseidon for the good-luck gifts from the sea. After giving a polite bow to the glimmering ocean, we turned away, only to find ourselves being showered with strange looks. Not minding, we vowed to return again.
