When I was 9 years old my parents decided to sent me to live with my grandparents.I had been living in the beautiful city of Monterrey,Mexico since I was 2 years old .Moving seemed sad but my parents explained it was a good opportunity to see where I was born and to keep learning a language that I had forgotten of. The first place when I came to the U.S was Utah .My first day of school the principal pulled me out of class and handed me a test booklet.This test was to see my “potential”.I guess my potential was not good since they held me back just for not comprehending english.Which was obvious .The principal decided to place me in a special speech class which did help me but it just made me feel less than everyone else.I guess the beautiful snow and the hot summer days made up for the year that was lost due to my learning disadvantage .So much for encouraging a stranger who spoke a different language i was living “the american dream.”
