My Grandmother Carmela
June 6, 2017

Morocco. She came to Israel and married my Grandfather Maimon. The two raised five girls and one boy. When my grandmother was in her early thirties, my grandfather passed away from heart failure.
She had to raise six alone with no help from others.
This shows her character. She raised them with bravery.
My grandmother was a very important character in my life. Every time I visited her she would get excited, and we would talk. She cooked the best meals in the entire world. I remember her asking me why I didn't visit her more often. After the conversation I promised her I would visit her every Thursday. That’s what I did.
Every visit was different. It would start with a meal that she had cooked for me and then I began a conversation with her. It depended on her mood. If her mood was good we would talk important things. If I saw that she was in a bad mood I would make her laugh and talk about silly things.

My Grandmother passed away two years ago. Her death affected everybody that knew her.
The family is now divided it's not the same as it used to be
