I wonder if there’s regret. Or if it was worth it. Was the life he chose better than the life he could have had with me? For his sake, I guess I hope so… but I don’t think it’s true. We loved too strong and fit too well for there to be a better option. The way our hands fit, the way our eyes locked, the way our lips meshed. It all held too much glory to be chosen over. Did he not see the glory like I did? Is that why he chose the life over the life with me? That’s all I can make out of it because if he felt the glory like I did it would have been impossible to not choose us.
