Zach was his complete opposite. He and Joey had been family friends forever, off and on, hating and loving each other, because they were the very definition of what the other failed at. Zach was socially inadept to the point of pure handicap, but incredibly polite, somehow laughing, always shaking hands. Perfect grades, hilarious smarty-pants humor, president of everything, and the techy boy of the school. He was also terrified of the word emotions, of life's big questions. Because he couldn't get a grade in that. And I just happened to be completely in love with him.
