For Educator of the Year, I nominate my seventh grade English teacher, Mrs. Kimberly Watson. She is an amazing woman who can teach any student and help them enjoy the class at the same time. I was able to learn a lot from Mrs. Watson through engaging lessons and enjoyable activities, and I know many of my classmates feel the same way.

Mrs.Watson teaches her class differently than most teachers. She is able to translate the curriculum into activities that engage her students. I remember that she had us use our vocabulary words to make a skit that we had to perform in front of the class. This helped us gain confidence; it made us all laugh, and of course, learn. What’s really great is that Mrs. Watson is able to teach all different kinds of students, ranging from the biggest teacher’s pet to the most stubborn of students. I remember one classmate who hated English and never got higher than a “C.” But thanks to Mrs. Watson, he started really liking English and earned an “A” as his final English grade!
Mrs. Watson has an energetic personality that enhances her teaching  style. She keeps the students engaged and entertained while teaching, and even though she relates well to the students, she still keeps the class moving forward. My seventh grade class covered a new and interesting subject or story almost every class. Mrs. Watson uses relevant visuals that relate to the lessons, allowing students to learn more while also being drawn into the subject material.

Mrs. Watson, like I’ve stated before, is great with students as individuals. She is able to talk with students and listen to their problems and challenges. Mrs. Watson was always helpful and would offer me a course of action to improve my work, but she would never just tell me what to do. This allowed me to become a stronger writer and more responsible student.

For all of these reasons, Mrs. Kimberly Watson is my vote for Educator of the Year. In addition to being an amazing teacher who makes English enjoyable for all students, she has fun teaching. I am sure all of her students can see that she loves to teach and that makes us all love learning from her.
