   The waves

The waves

Silver and lead and

Silver

Rolling over me and

Rolling my troubles

Away

Away from me into the

Sea do you

See the flotsam and jetsam of

My mind?

My mind floating on feather crests

Dancing with fish and

Dancing with the

Mermaid my

Mermaid where are you, fair mermaid?

Under the moonlight, then

Under the

Waves, dear

Waves wash the barnacles from my

Bones my

Bones and find me my

Mermaid, sweet

Mermaid sing me a

Song but one

Song to lull me to

Sleep blessed

Sleep with my love and

The waves

The waves.
