   "After you,"

his arms outspread,

gesturing in my direction.

Back straight, head lowered,

eyes closed in quiet adoration,

radiating pride.

A silent tear falls from his crystal blue eyes,

caressing his ageless face,

as he reaches for his handkerchief,

colored light from stained glass windows,

surrounds him,

his aura glowing like a halo.

With a flutter of excitement,

the aisles are filled,

people randomly exiting,

undaunted:

He takes a step,

holds out his arm,

blocks the traffic of frenzied believers,

"After you"
