When I was ten years old, my parents decided to get a divorce. It was probably the worst thing that ever happened to me. I was angry at my parents, and myself, and I took it out on everyone. But I realized in time that I couldn't be mad at myself and my parents. I also realized a few thing that any kid who goes through a divorce should remember: your parents probably got divorced for many reasons and one of the main ones was that they weren't happy together. I kept telling myself that even though I wanted my parents together, that I would rather see both of them happy separated than unhappy and together. I think a lot of people would rather have that.

Another thing you should remember is that as hard as it may seem the first few months, it does get better. A lot of weird things might happen, but just go with the flow and everything will be all right. Also, if you think that the divorce was your fault, and you blame yourself for what happened, you have it all wrong. You shouldn't blame anyone or be mad about this. You especially can't blame your parents because this is probably just as upsetting to them as it is for you. So, just be strong and hang on, because everyone gets through it. I know I did, and I think that I am stronger than I ever was! c
