Chasing away the green monster
With large paws from myclosets,
Teaching me to read
By reading to me while I sat on yourlap,
Sending me to school
Even when you knew it would be hard to let mego,
Teaching me to drive in an old rusty brown van
On old dusty dirtroads,
So many things you've done,
And now that I'm growing up,
You maythink you are through,
I don't need to be taught to read,
I may not need tobe taught to drive,
But as my mother
I will always need you!
