Therethe graduates proceeded proudly, pondering the years past, remembering
Thegame-winning shots, the moving theatrical performances, final-minute touchdowns
During overtime, one band competition after the other, those exhilaratingdances, yet
Most of all the many good times with friends. These memories turnto mere dust when
Stepping onto the football field, under the dusk of thesky. Ready to receive their
diplomas they wait with great anticipation, theirhearts pounding to our Alma Mater
Like the steady beat of a Knight's drum. And as memory after memory
Mesmerize the minds of each graduate, feelings ofhonor and accomplishment hush
The crowd. The names of each class member beingcalled one by one,
Echoing loudly through the stadium, as the announcer offootball games
Once had. The facial expressions of those students shifting inthe 1,000 chairs
On the field, overflowing with the eagerness and joy of whatis to come.
Rising to meet their moment face to face,
Standing to collidestraight into their future.
The future now the present, twelve years of allour lives leading up to one
Dreamed-of night. Then directly in place, withthe navy and the blue,
They swiftly lift their caps to the now starry nightsky. And with diplomas in
Hand, as the Class of 2003, tassels turned overtheir hearts,
Right to left, become graduates of high school.
