Jesus Digs Orange

“’Ah, sunsets are Jesus’ paintcan.’
‘Huh, Jesus must really dig orange.’
‘Oh Jesus loves all the colors! Except Mexican.’”
Hello dear reader. My name is Shiloh Carrera and I am not purple. Or green. Or red. I’m Mexican. You may be wondering, this is a religion paper, what up with the racist jokes? Well let me tell you.
First of all, pretty much my dad’s entire side of the family is Mexican. Crazy, spicy-cookin’ Mexicans. Kind of like me. They have parties, make enchiladas, and love everyone in the family like crazy. I get to see them a lot, considering how close they are with my dad. They’re a lot louder than my mom’s side, the leprechauns, but I love them both tons.
One thing I really pick up from my dad and my loving Mexicans is their amazing humor. I love jokes, laughing, and making other people smile, and my dad really helps me to do that just by being his weird self. Every time I see them they make me laugh and that‘s only one of the reasons why I love them.
They all love me and I love them.
So, back to the beginning. My family is my gift from God. I have all these crazy people around me, these Mexican blessings from Jesus. My point? Jesus loves me. The bible tells me so! So if Jesus didn’t like the color Mexican, why would he bless me with so many of them?
Jesus digs orange. And Mexican.
