Two Different Time Periods

In Romanticism i learned that Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote "The Scarlet Letter" and "The House of Seven Gables." Also Romanticism isn't about heart and flowers it's about feelings.In 1840 the U.S population reached 17 million.
In Transcendentalism I learned thay is was a spiritual,philosophical and literary movement theorizing that mind can actively shape experience.Also in 1836 a group of intellectuals from New England met for the first time at Boston's Transcendentalist Club.In 1840 The Dial. a transcendentalist magazine was first published.
