The author of the internationally acclaimed series The Hunger Games might have seemed like an overnight success to some, but in reality, Suzanne Collins has been writing for well known media longer than her average reader has been alive! Suzanne Collins actually first got in to the writing business when she first started writing for children’s television. She has not only written for many Emmy- nominated Nickelodeon shows like Clarissa Explains it All and The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, she has also written many award winners for the younger crowds like Little Bear and Oswald. Suzanne finally got into the book writing business when she was working for Generation O! and a fellow named James Proimos talked her into giving it a try. Inspired by the story Alice in Wonderland, Suzanne wrote her first book series, The Underland Chronicles. Then, pursuing her author passion, Suzanne wrote a book called The Hunger Games was published on September 14, 2008. Published in 26 different languages, this worldwide hit changed her life forever. Encouraged by her newfound success, Suzanne continued the trilogy with Catching Fire, September 1, 2009, and Mockingjay, August 24, 2010.
