Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind, and do whatever you want. -Saint Augustine

Dear Haitian people,

Confusion. Devastation. Despair. The tragedy that has flung itself upon you is terrible. With the death toll amassing, you wonder if your family, your friends, neighbors are one of the decimated. You feel weak. Alone. Helpless. Like this pernicious cycle will never end. But. Though these words seem obtrusive in your time of grief, a better tomorrow is inherent. Life will return. Hope will return. Security will return. So. I say to you this. Become gregarious. Live every day like it's your last. Be a friend. Make a friend. Love a friend. This disaster doesn't have to be the end. Make it your beginning. Articulate these words to those enveloped in sorrow. Faith. Community. Trust.

I was inspired to write this, because of the devastating earthquake that has obliterated Haiti. I hope this would bring peace to the people of Haiti.
