(Lakota for white men)
Theycame with hatred burning in their eyes.
Each had a gun.
They came for usto die
So we would be gone and done.
They came to drag us to a jail.
They came to steal our land.
They ignored my people's pleas and wails
And forced our culture to be banned.
They had promised us peace
And now as I see the blood of my people flow,
I know the hateful fightingwill never cease.
I will never feel freedom again,
I know.
