I agree with Julia, and what she meant in her article “Why I’m choosing a different University Than My Twin” . Although I am not a twin, I do have siblings that, for a majority of my life, was constantly compared to them. Mostly my eldest brother, Juan. I do not believe what that say when they compare the both of us in our facial features and academics, however, I was seen under the shadow of my brother, as “Juan’s little sister” and not by my own identity. But over time, in high school I found myself and gained the nickname “Celis”. So I understand your decision, and how it made you feel to be broken from an identity that you do not believe to be your own. Thank you Julia, for sharing your decision for picking a different University than your twin.
