The writing titled “The Day My School Was Bombed,” written by Zeina Aboushaar, talks about the dangers in other countries. Her writing left me feeling Grateful to live in America. I was shocked when I started reading this selection. Thoughts ran through my mind like, why would you bomb innocent children or just why? What did they do to you? This could happen to anyone at any time and at any school. People are so cruel now in this day and age. People don’t care if children and women are killed because it is happening daily. This subject makes me very angry with the world we live in. War should be fought on the battlefield not with the killing of innocent people. She wrote, “Where is he? Is he ok?” That is selfless not selfish! “Am I going to find him before the bombs strike the school?” He is not thinking about himself. He is thinking about his little brother and not himself.
