In the writing “A Lighthouse in Hurricane Harvey,” written by Lauren Yang, talks about Hurricane Harvey. Her writing left me feeling helpless. It was a well rounded nonfiction story that left me remembering the tragic hurricane that destroyed Texas. The author tells the story about her “bleeding red dot,” and how she has never seen “the power of a nation” until now. She describes the devastation as “a city drowning.”  This quote provides me with an example of imagery by showing the amount of water that has hit her city. Lauren reminds us all that we can’t take anything for granted because someday our town might be the red dot, crying out for help.
