I relate to Max Jackson's "Dear Freshman" on an emotional level. The amount of times I've been ridiculed for not knowing the basics of high school were too many to count. I was angry, but happy that I read this now as a Junior. The quote "High school sucks" made me chuckle, realizing it's very true. Freshman year was a trainwreck of emotions and I was practically swimming in homework. Teachers forced so much work on me that I didn't know what to do with it, but I stayed on my toes. I hate high school, but there's still good times ahead of me. Thank you Max, for such an amazing piece of artistic poetry.
