In Ellis' article about 13 reasons why she talks about how 13 reasons why didnt show what it's like to have mental illness and how it was made to get attention. She’s totally right because after I watched it, I liked but as she said it wasn't a accurate view of suicide. Also she says that showing kids these graphic scenes of sexual assault, suicide, and self harm goes against many suicide and health organisations and may lead kids to copycat behavior, this is completely true. I agree with Why “13 Reasons Why” Fails by Ellis because Netflix had the opportunity to make this a show that accurately shows the view of suicide but instead they tried to make it romantic and beautiful so it would get a lot of attention, which it did.
