"Why Thirteen Reasons Why Fails", I can relate to Ellis Donagney when she wrote about this Netflix series because she goes in depth about how this series affected people and took into consideration how the audience reacted to it. Majority of the audience "romanticizes and dramatizes suicide...”. I strongly agree with her because this series was extremely popular worldwide, many of its audience were actually struggling with depression issues or mental illness. She also goes in depth about how many people almost were copycats on how the main character Hannah committed suicide. This series should have been used to give greater understanding of those who live with mental illness or depression. This series portrays the act of revenge as beautiful, when in reality people struggle with the thought of suicide every day and is extremely sad. Thank you, Ellis for giving me a better understanding on this series and making me more open about how it affects other people.
