Chidinma Agbo makes an interesting point in her article. She makes it clear that the N-word can hurt black people, if said by non-black people. But then she contradicts herself by saying black people are the only ones that can say the N-word to each other and to others. It's a hurtful word with alot of bad history behind it, so why even say it at all, let alone in casual conversation. Also, Chidinma uses not getting cake at a party as a metaphor for non-blacks being excluded from using the N-word, according to her. But see, this is a big issue. Todays society seems to be as divided as ever, so why enforce this unspoken rule and divide yourself from people of other ethnicitys and cause more trouble than there already is.Chidinma goes as far as to say that when non-blacks say the N-word, "they prevent the healing of wounds that slavery caused." A solution to this would be to just stop using the word and unite society, not divide it over a degrading, racial slur.
